Monument and Memorial Trees

Do you need to Memorialize a loved one?

Highland Hill Farm Can Help

Highland Hill Farm is located near Doylestown Pa. Over the years, our farm has supplied many people with trees for memorial purposes.
We have started a program of mixing ashes of loved ones into our potting soils and potting up a tree or a bunch of trees for memorial purposes. These trees can then be planted on ground we own, public parks that accept tree donations, at public facilities and most importantly at homes of many of the bereaved family and friends of the deceased loved one.
We work with individuals and with funeral directors to provide quality bereavement trees and plants. We can supply a wide range of suitable trees and shrubs for this purpose. We can UPS trees to many locations and thus can supply bereaved families with a living memorial of their loved one. Multiple trees can be ordered to provide many loved ones with memorial trees.
We would be happy to work with you and provide our services to you or to your organization.
Please feel free to call me with more questions. Bill Hirst 215 651 8329

Our Trees of Life

What does arborvitae mean anyway? Here's how the Latin name Arborvitae, or "tree of life," came about. As the first explorers of Canada were mapping the St. Lawrence River in 1536, the tree was used for medicine which saved their leader and most of the men too. Jacques Cartier explored the islands off eastern Canada, and then sailed westward where he entered the St. Lawrence River and found Quebec and a Royal Mountain (Mont Real, which is now called "Montreal"). Cartier was searching for the passage to China so many other explorers would also fail to find. Cartier and his men had to spend a long winter inside a little fort, away from the any sun, where they subsisted on meat, fish, and bread, eating no fruits or vegetables. As scurvy was killing most all of them, a friendly Huron Indian gave Cartier's crew tea made from the needles and bark of a tree which looked like the white cedars of Europe. So Cartier took some trees back to France with him, these Thuja Occidentalis Eastern White Cedars, naming them "Arborvitae," the tree of life. How about that?

We can help you select the correct tree or shrubs for your remembrance or monument trees. Many families decide to have us make several plant combinations. Thus shared memorial trees can be planted for several locations. Perhaps your loved one like going to the mountains, to the shore, or you would like a monument tree for your garden? We can help you with many of your requests. Some locations can not be shipped to and some plants are not acceptable in some areas. For example, a burning bush may not be allowed in Mass. but is acceptable in Pa. There are regulations that prevent us from shipping to California. We will help you in your selection.
