Liriope plants are a group of grass like plants consists of a clumping form of evergreen perennials native to the orient. In the landscape, they are planted as a groundcover or used define a path edging. These plants do not creep. The Liriope leaves range from dark green or variegated to some varieties that have leaves that are so dark that they can seem almost black. The flowers range from purple to white. Liriope muscari 'Big Blue' is a clumping, grass-like evergreen perennial. It has dark green leaves and will get up to about 18 inches in height. 'Big Blue' has purple buds and flower spikes in late summer which ripen to black berries. This plant is an excellent border plant and groundcover. Lily Turf is extremely versatile and will take full sun to full shade. Your kids basket balls and bikes will not kill this plant when it is damaged.
